Director of Physical Therapy
Shannon graduated with her masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2002. She is a commissioned officer in the US Army as a Physical Therapist and has experience in a wide variety of settings, but has concentrated in sports medicine and orthopedics for the majority of her career. She was directly assigned to and worked with a Special Operations unit for several years. This has allowed her to specialize in working directly with strength coaches to optimize training techniques for each individual to address their specific needs for injury prevention and to maximize performance potential. She has specialized her treatment and care towards maintaining a high level of function and prevention of injuries; making her specifically qualified for treating and assisting athletes of all levels achieve their maximal potential and sport or fitness goals. She also has vast experience working with persons with multiple traumas return to full function in the highly demanding Special Operations Community. When not working, Shannon enjoys running and hiking with her dog and spending time traveling everywhere she can.
Shannon is certified in Therapeutic Dry Needling techniques, Graston technique, ASTYM technique, Fascial Manipulation Levels 1-3, has completed multiple courses in the FMS (functional movement screen), SFMA (selective functional movement assessment), The Grey Institutes’ 3D maps training, PRI training (Postural Restoration Institute), ART (Active Release Technique), Original Strength, LSVT BIG, as well as received Level 1 and 2 training in Spinal Manipulation from AAMT.
Physical Therapist
Emily earned her B.S. in Athletic Training from Winona State University in 2012 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2015. She has worked with a wide variety of patients in many different treatment settings. Emily spent nearly 4 years working for a Special Operations Unit where she worked closely with the medical team, strength coaches, athletic trainers, and dietitian to maximize performance and return to duty for unit members. Emily is passionate about helping clients reach their goals and maximize their performance. Emily has lived in the Pinehurst area for the last 4 years and enjoys traveling, cooking, and learning to golf.
Emily is certified in Therapeutic Dry Needling, Fascial Manipulation Levels 1 & 2, the Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, and ELDOA. She is also trained in Functional Range Conditioning, Reflexive Performance Reset, and soft tissue mobilization.
Physical Therapist
Leanne earned her B.S. in Exercise Science from College of Charleston in 2017 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2021. She has worked within a variety of clinics from the standard outpatient clinic to the VA, as well as spending time apart of the human performance team on a local AFB. Leanne has a passion for assisting people back to their full potential and the highest level of performance possible. She spends her free time working with a non-profit assisting first responders return to duty with other disciplines such as nutrition, strength and conditioning, mental health, and occupational therapists. Through this non-profit and her experience with the human performance team, she has been able to expand her treatment plans to include a whole-body approach, seeing more success for her patients in the clinic. When Leanne is not working, she is spending time with her husband, two daughters, and three dogs on their farm.
Leanne in certified in Dry Needling, Graston technique, Spinal Manipulation, Unique Considerations for the Female Athlete, and Soft Tissue Mobilization. She is currently working on her Fascial Manipulation certification.
Clinic Manager
Adam graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in History. During his undergraduate studies, he studied Arabic abroad in Morocco and Jordan. After graduating, he joined the US Army and served as an Arabic linguist for five years. After transitioning from the military, he changed career fields to pursue his passion in rehabilitative sciences. Personal experience with chronic pain showed him the powerful impact that quality physical therapy can have on health and well-being. He now wants to spread that same knowledge and excitement with others. In his free time, Adam enjoys hiking, running, and weightlifting.
